Although he was frightened he said, 'I¿ll be brave and see the world on my own.¿ He had adventures, made friends and was finally reunited with Sally and Bill after their return eight weeks later. This story introduces children to travel, some places in New Zealand and overseas, friendships, feelings and learning to cope on one¿s own. The book could be an introduction to other places of the world if read in conjunction with a map but the story is primarily aimed to entertain. THUMPER THE TRAVELLING BAG was written from our own experience but is an embellished fictional tale and is aimed at the readers aged 6 to 9 years.
