Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction
This two-volume set constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction, UAHCI 2023, held as part of the 25th International Conference, HCI International 2023, in Copenhagen, Denmark, during July 23-28, 2023. The total of 1578 papers and 396 posters included in the HCII 2022 proceedings was carefully reviewed and selected from 7472 submissions. The UAHCI 2023 proceedings were organized in the following topical sections: Part I: Design for All Methods, Tools and Practice; Interaction Techniques, Platforms and Metaphors for Universal Access; Understanding the Universal Access User Experience; and Designing for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Disciplinary and Trans-Disciplinary Knowledge and Skills for an Uncertain Future: Are Educational Media up to It?
This volume collects some of the papers presented at the 16th IARTEM Conference held in Florence in April 2022. It was a ’difficult conference’, held at a time when the pandemic was still present, and therefore an important opportunity to resume a dialogue that seemed to have been interrupted. The richness of the content, which is the result of the reflections of authors from all over the world, allows us to provide a precise scenario of the research state of art in the field of textbooks and digital resources for teaching.
TSH Receptor and Autoimmunity
The present Research Topic aims to provide updated reviews on TSH receptor structure and function, and its relationship with thyroid autoimmunity. Indeed, original reviews deal also with the pathogenesis of Graves' disease and its complications such as thyroid-associated opthalmopathy. Another issue that is addressed in this topic is the multifaceted nature of TSH receptor autoantibodies (TRAbs) and their role in the diagnosis and prognosis of Graves’ disease, with the most recent data on the clinical applications of TRAbs assays. Furthermore, the functional role of the TSH receptor in extrathyroidal tissues is discussed.

Riconoscere tempestivamente condizioni di criticità nello sviluppo dei bambini e dei ragazzi non significa formulare diagnosi cliniche o valutazioni fossilizzanti, ma piuttosto creare le condizioni indispensabili per progettare attività educative efficaci e ideare strategie di intervento scientificamente fondate. Questa consapevolezza, suffragata dalle più recenti scoperte sul funzionamento del cervello umano, ha suggerito ai Dirigenti della Federazione italiana delle scuole materne (FISM) di Parma di affidare al Centro studi sulla Disabilità e la Marginalità (CeDisMa) dell'Università Cattolica di Milano una ricerca-azione con l'obiettivo di studiare, costruire e validare uno strumento di osservazione e analisi, rivolto a educatori e insegnanti, utile a intercettare le difficoltà e le problematiche riscontrabili nei bambini di età compresa tra 0 e 6 anni. Il volume presenta gli esiti di questo importante e innovativo lavoro, che si pone come preziosa risorsa per chiunque operi nel campo dell'educazione.
