O curso de Formação Inicial de Dirigentes constituiu a primeira oferta formativa da Portugal Football School, logo em 2017. Depois de criada a escola, com o intuito de formar melhores agentes para o futebol e para o desporto português, fez todo o sentido que, no seguimento das primeiras formações iniciais, se tenha lançado o curso de Formação Intermédia de Dirigentes, cuja condição primordial de acesso é justamente a frequência da Formação Inicial. Os dois cursos constituem, desta forma, um bloco de formação em continuum, alicerçado na solidez do conhecimento — empírico e científico — de vários formadores da Federação Portuguesa de Futebol e de muitos outros externos à instituição. Neste manual encontram-se as matérias com que, de forma transversal e evolutiva, os formandos se deparam ao frequentar os cursos, essenciais para o cumprimento do objetivo central de melhorar o dirigismo desportivo nacional.
