Data Mining is the science and technology of exploring large and complex bodies of data in order to discover useful patterns. It is extremely important because it enables modeling and knowledge extraction from abundant data availability. This book introduces soft computing methods extending the envelope of problems that data mining can solve efficiently. It presents practical soft-computing approaches in data mining and includes various real-world case studies with detailed results.
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-workshop proceedings of the 7th International Workshop on Agents and Data Mining Interaction, ADMI 2011, held in Taipei, Taiwan, in May 2011 in conjunction with AAMAS 2011, the 10th International Joint Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems. The 11 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 24 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on agents for data mining; data mining for agents; and agent mining applications.
This volume contains 12 thoroughly refereed and revised papers detailing recent advances in research on designing trading agents and mechanisms for agent-mediated e-commerce. They were originally presented at three events: the Workshop on Agent-Mediated Electronic Commerce (AMEC 2013), co-located with AAMAS 2013 in Saint Paul, MN, USA, in May 2013; the Workshop on Trading Agent Design and Analysis (TADA 2013), co-located with AAAI 2013 in Bellevue, WA, USA, in July 2013; and the Joint Workshop on Trading Agent Design and Analysis (TADA 2014) and Agent-Mediated Electronic Commerce (AMEC 2014), co-located with AAMAS 2014 in Paris, France, in May 2014. Given the breadth of research topics in this field, the range of topics addressed in these papers is correspondingly broad. These include the study of theoretical issues related to the design of interaction protocols and marketplaces; the design and analysis of automated trading strategies used by individual agents; and the deployment of such strategies, in times as part of an entry to the trading agent competition.

The 44 revised full papers and 5 revised short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 98 submissions. The 17 revised full papers presented together with 5 invited papers and the abstract of an invited talk were carefully reviewed and selected from 29 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on agent-based data mining issues, ontologies and Web mining, and applications and case studies.
