Emerging Intelligent Technologies in Industry
Intelligent technologies are the essential factors of innovation, and enable the industry to overcome technological limitations and explore the new frontiers. Therefore it is necessary for scientists and practitioners to cooperate and inspire each other, and use the latest research results in creating new designs and products. The idea of this book came out with the industrial workshop organized at the ISMIS conference in Warsaw, 2011. The book covers several applications of emerging, intelligent technologies in various branches of the industry. The contributions describe modern intelligent tools, algorithms and architectures, which have the potential to solve real problems, experienced by practitioners in various industry sectors. We hope this volume will show new directions for cooperation between science and industry and will facilitate efficient transfer of knowledge in the area of intelligent information systems.
Intelligent Computer Graphics 2011
In Computer Graphics, the use of intelligent techniques started more recently than in other research areas. However, during these last two decades, the use of intelligent Computer Graphics techniques is growing up year after year and more and more interesting techniques are presented in this area. The purpose of this volume is to present current work of the Intelligent Computer Graphics community, a community growing up year after year. This volume is a kind of continuation of the previously published Springer volumes “Artificial Intelligence Techniques for Computer Graphics” (2008), “Intelligent Computer Graphics 2009” (2009) and “Intelligent Computer Graphics 2010” (2010). This volume contains selected extended papers from the last 3IA Conference (3IA’2011), which has been held in Athens (Greece) in May 2011. This year papers are particularly exciting and concern areas like virtual reality, artificial life, data visualization, games, global illumination, point cloud modelling, declarative modelling, scene reconstruction and many other very important themes.
Machine Intelligence and Big Data in Industry
This book presents valuable contributions devoted to practical applications of Machine Intelligence and Big Data in various branches of the industry. All the contributions are extended versions of presentations delivered at the Industrial Session the 6th International Conference on Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence (PREMI 2015) held in Warsaw, Poland at June 30- July 3, 2015, which passed through a rigorous reviewing process. The contributions address real world problems and show innovative solutions used to solve them. Project E-Society: Building Bricks
13E 2006, the 6th in this series of IFIP conferences, marked the congregation of researchers and practitioners in the areas of e-Commerce, e-Business, and e-Government. The conference was sponsored by IFIP TC 6 in cooperation with TC 8 and TC 11. The conference provided a forum for researchers, engineers and interested users in academia, industry, and government to discuss the latest research, cutting-edge practice and upcoming trends in the growing areas of e-Commerce, e-Business, and particularly e-Government. Sophisticated applications as well as the underlying technology that supports such applications were discussed and demonstrated. The conference attracted a wide range of participants representing a significant community of researchers and practitioners from a broad range of countries. Recognizing Variable Environments
Normal adults do not have any difficulty in recognizing their homes. But can artificial systems do in the same way as humans? This book collects interdisciplinary evidences and presents an answer from the perspective of computing, namely, the theory of cognitive prism.
