I’ve always wanted to share my knowledge in whatever way I could. And I’ve decided to embark on that journey with ‘Iqraa’. I’ve taken an unusual approach to the book. It is essentially a book in which information has been sourced and compiled. So, I contributed about 30-40% of the information in the book, while the remaining 60% came from various sources such as the internet, social media platforms. Specifically, social media platforms have provided me with a glimpse into my compilation work, which has transcended into a conventional enjoyable treasure of information. There are approximately 300 questions and answers from which one can gain Islamic knowledge through various Quranic verses, Hadith. Iqraa is a physical manifestation of my need to share knowledge, specifically the kind that is spiritual in nature. I believe that whatever I know of Islamic knowledge and tradition should be useful and be shared with everyone.

Clean India, Green India is a trending concept in modern India. Cleanliness is a key word synonymous with hygiene. The garbage cleaners are the people who work through the seasons to keep our places clean for us. But do they always get their due respect and pay for the work they do? Have you ever thought what our places would look like and smell, if the garbage cleaners were not there for us? Scripted in a rhythmic way, the book Kurewala, celebrates the hard work of Phool Chand, the garbage cleaner who picks our household waste and brooms our roads. Phool Chand does not clean our roads but also the stereotypes attached with the work of garbage cleaners. The book also gives a glimpse of dejection, faced by Phool Chand as he does his daily chores and finally the society has an epiphany that a job which most people may consider not so very appropriate deserves an appreciation both in terms of wages and respect.

Given the breadth of local issues activists face, the ways they define the problem and seek redress vary widely. This book provides a unique perspective on these efforts, gathering into one volume concrete examples of the implementation of different strategies for social change that highlight the challenges involved. This provides useful lessons for those involv...
