Graphs and Algorithms in Communication Networks
Algorithmic discrete mathematics plays a key role in the development of information and communication technologies, and methods that arise in computer science, mathematics and operations research – in particular in algorithms, computational complexity, distributed computing and optimization – are vital to modern services such as mobile telephony, online banking and VoIP. This book examines communication networking from a mathematical viewpoint. The contributing authors took part in the European COST action 293 – a four-year program of multidisciplinary research on this subject. In this book they offer introductory overviews and state-of-the-art assessments of current and future research in the fields of broadband, optical, wireless and ad hoc networks. Particular topics of interest are design, optimization, robustness and energy consumption. Principles of Distributed Systems
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Principles of Distributed Systems, OPODIS 2008, held in Luxor, Egypt, in December 2008. Automata, Languages and Programming
The two-volume set LNCS 6198 and LNCS 6199 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 37th International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming, ICALP 2010, held in Bordeaux, France, in July 2010. The 106 revised full papers (60 papers for track A, 30 for track B, and 16 for track C) presented together with 6 invited talks were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 389 submissions. The papers are grouped in three major tracks on algorithms, complexity and games; on logic, semantics, automata, and theory of programming; as well as on foundations of networked computation: models, algorithms and information management. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 17th International Colloquium on Structural Information and Communication Complexity, SIROCCO 2010, held in Sirince, Turkey, in June 2010.
