Many papers in this volume re?ect, to some degree, the active, rapid economic developmentincertaingeographicareasintheworldsuchasChina,Japan,South Korea, and EasternEurope, which demand cooperative work, particularly co- erative engineering, more than ever. New concepts and new ideas of cooperative design, visualization, and engineering have emerged to meet the higher demand resulting from the economic development in these areas. Another trend among the papers in this volume is to apply existing concepts and methods to new application areas. The emergence of new concepts can be considered as a signal of fruitful research with its maturity in the ?eld. This can be found in the papers of this ye...
Guiding readers through the basics of these rapidly emerging networks to more advanced concepts and future expectations, this book examines the most pressing research issues in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). Leading researchers, industry professionals, and academics provide an authoritative perspective of the state of the art in MANETs. The book includes surveys of recent publications that investigate key areas of interest such as limited resources and the mobility of mobile nodes. It considers routing, multicast, energy, security, channel assignment, and ensuring quality of service.
Innovative tools and techniques for the development and design of software systems are essential to the problem solving and planning of software solutions. Software Design and Development: Concepts, Methodologies, Tools, and Applications brings together the best practices of theory and implementation in the development of software systems. This reference source is essential for researchers, engineers, practitioners, and scholars seeking the latest knowledge on the techniques, applications, and methodologies for the design and development of software systems.
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 1st Congress in Sustainability, Energy and City (CSECity’21) held in Ambato, Ecuador, on June 28–29, 2021, proudly organized by Universidad Tecnológica Indoamerica in collaboration with GDEON. The CSECity brings together experts that promotes the dissemination of advances in sustainability, urbanism, energy, and industry research through the presentation of keynote conferences. In CSECity, theoretical, technical, or application works that are research products are presented to discuss and debate ideas, experiences, and challenges. Presenting high-quality, peer-reviewed papers, the book discusses the following topics: Energy sustainability Information and knowledge management Information technologies Innovation, technology, and society Software and systems modeling Software systems, architectures, applications, and tools Sustainable energy and the city.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Testbeds and Research Infrastructures for the Development of Networks and Communities, TridentCom 2016, held in Hangzhou, China, in June 2016. The 16 papers were carefully selected from 25 submissions and provide a forum about technologies of big data, cyber physical systems and computer communications. The papers cover future Internet and software defined networks, network testbed design and implementation, testbed for network applications, and QoS/QoE in networks.

The discrete wavelet transform (DWT) algorithms have a firm position in processing of signals in several areas of research and industry. As DWT provides both octave-scale frequency and spatial timing of the analyzed signal, it is constantly used to solve and treat more and more advanced problems. The present book: Discrete Wavelet Transforms: Algorithms and Applications reviews the recent progress in discrete wavelet transform algorithms and applications. The book covers a wide range of methods (e.g. lifting, shift invariance, multi-scale analysis) for constructing DWTs. The book chapters are organized into four major parts. Part I describes the progress in hardware implementations of the DW...
This book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the 7th and the 8th International Conference on Big Data Technologies and Applications, ICT4AWE 2021 and ICT4AWE 2022, held in April 24–26, 2021 and April 23–25, 2022. Due to COVID-19 pandemic both conferences were held virtually. The 21 full papers of ICT4AWE 2021 and ICT4AWE 2022 were selected from 80 submissions and present all big data technologies, such as Aging Well - Social and Human Sciences Perspective; Telemedicine and Independent Living; Digital Health and e-health.
