When mother of three, Rachel Adamo, unexpectedly encounters her former theology school professor, Jay Winchester, at a memorial service, memories of past sexual victimization by Jay and others are triggered. Rachel decides to share her story with her young adult daughter, Jennifer, a recent college graduate who has returned home to heal from a broken heart. Rachel senses, without knowing why, that their mother-daughter relationship will improve, and that Jennifer can benefit from knowing Rachel's past. The two women spend six consecutive Sunday mornings in conversation about rape, Jay and other men, sexual exploitation, and the road to recovery. In the process, Jennifer is empowered to reveal her own hidden truth. Sunday Confessions is a fictionalized story of sexual violence and recovery based on actual people and events. The characters' stories disclose the reality that perpetrators are everywhere - in universities, workplaces, neighborhoods, and even in schools.

The men of the 5th Kentucky Mounted Infantry called him "Captain" and later, his subordinates in the 10th Kentucky Mounted Infantry called him "Colonel". Some of his enemies called him a "dangerous guerilla chieftain". Very late in the war, his regiment was re-designated as the 13th Kentucky Cavalry. When his Confederacy no longer existed, and there was no longer a need for his sword, he picked up his Bible and returned to his former life as a country preacher and community leader. This book contains specific details regarding Confederate Colonel Ben E. Caudill's 13th Kentucky Cavalry. It includes a complete roster of the men who rode with Caudill, historical accounts of their engagements with their enemy, and a collection of period and post-war photographs.

What do Euphoria, Normal People, Atlanta, Ramy, Vida, I May Destroy You, Stranger Things, and Lovecraft Country have in common? In the 2016-2020 time period they were created, these TV shows exemplified one (or more) of four noteworthy trends: authenticity, diversity, sexual candor, and retrospection. This is the first book to examine live action, fictional television shows produced within a five-year period through the lens of the trends that they epitomize. For each show, the following is discussed: the significance of the platform and the format; the intentions of the creators and showrunners; pertinent background information; similar shows and precedents; the storytelling approach; the cinematic form; and finally, how the show is emblematic of that particular trend. Since trends have the possibility of becoming part of the mainstream, they are important to identify as they emerge, especially for viewers who have a keen interest in narrative television shows.
