This volume gathers peer-reviewed contributions that address a wide range of recent developments in the methodology and applications of data analysis and classification tools in micro and macroeconomic problems. The papers were originally presented at the 29th Conference of the Section on Classification and Data Analysis of the Polish Statistical Association, SKAD 2020, held in Sopot, Poland, September 7–9, 2020. Providing a balance between methodological contributions and empirical papers, the book is divided into five parts focusing on methodology, finance, economics, social issues and applications dealing with COVID-19 data. It is aimed at a wide audience, including researchers at universities and research institutions, graduate and doctoral students, practitioners, data scientists and employees in public statistical institutions.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 10th International IFIP WG 8.9 Working Conference on Research and Practical Issues of Enterprise Information Systems, CONFENIS 2016, held in Vienna, Austria, in December 2016. The conference provided an international forum for the broader IFIP community to discuss the latest research findings in the area of EIS and specifically aimed at facilitating the exchange of ideas and advances on all aspects and developments of EIS. The 25 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 63 submissions. The present work focuses on tyres for passenger cars, especially on its influence on power loss, lateral dynamics, ride comfort and interior noise. The objective of the work is the quantification of conflicts between four selected requirements considering the physical constraints given by the tyre. The method proposed in the present book is based on a set of functional tyre characteristics, a physical tyre model and a procedure for identifying and quantifying the conflicts.
Quantitative marketing has been gaining importance during the last decade. This is indicated by the growing number of model- and method-oriented studies published in leading journals as well as by the many successful applications of quantitative approaches in pricing, advertising, new product planning, and market segmentation decisions. In addition, market research has clearly benefitted from applying advanced quantitative models and methods in practice. Some 60 researchers – among them worldwide leading scholars – offer a broad overview of quantitative approaches in marketing. In variational linguistics, the concept of space has always been a central issue. However, different research traditions considering space coexisted for a long time separately. Traditional dialectology focused primarily on the diatopic dimension of linguistic variation, whereas in sociolinguistic studies diastratic and diaphasic dimensions were considered. For a long time only very few linguistic investigations tried to combine both research traditions in a two-dimensional design – a desideratum which is meant to be compensated by the contributions of this volume.
