Doctor's Orders

Sequel to Order in the Court Corey Nguyen definitely doesn’t need antidepressants. For a girl who went through a tragedy last year, everything seems to be coming together for Corey. She has everything a college sophomore could ask for: a loving partner, a couple of cool new friends, a great relationship with her parents ... and she even managed to keep her grades up while testifying in a murder trial last semester! She should be happy and carefree with that weight off her shoulders! So why does she always feel like the world is about to end? In this final installment of Corey’s story, she must face up to the fact that stories don’t end when you get the guy (or girl) and promise to live happily ever after. After a summer living in a bubble with her new beau, Corey discovers that the world has kept turning for everyone else. The people around her are moving forward without her and if she doesn’t catch up quickly, she’s going to risk losing everything -- her friends, her relationship, or even somebody’s life. NOTE: This book mentions suicide, gun violence, and mental health crises.

Rhys Morgan is haunted by the death of his sister Moira who died when he was sixteen and because of his self reproach he refuses to discuss it. For the love of his wife Nerys he sets aside many of his idealistic principles, and tries to concentrate on doing the best for his family. In Wales it never stops raining. Or almost never. When it does stop raining from the sky, it rains from hearts instead. Indoors as well as outdoors, the people huddle in the endless drenchings, and over time they have evolved into aquatic creatures who only look and behave like men and women but aren't really. There is a clue in the name of the country. Wales is a nation with no spot of dry land within its borders. Wales is an Atlantis that never stayed under but is just as wet. Crammed with mythical beings and happenings, Cloud Farming in Wales palpitates, germinates and extrapolates, but never evaporates, and the sodden heroes that wade and slosh through the mighty puddles of its pages are generally in search of a canoe.
