Genetic Programming comprises of proceedings of the 12th European Conference on Genetic Programming, EuroGP 2010. Topics include novel models, performance enhancements, extensions of genetic programming, and various applications.
A deep look into the multifaceted landscape of artificial intelligence, considering AI’s ethical and societal implications and celebrating its diverse and innovative applications. In this edited collection Collaborative Intelligence, Mira Lane and Arathi Sethumadhavan embark on a captivating exploration of artificial intelligence. The book delves deeply into the dynamic interplay between theory and practice, shedding light on the transformative potential and complexities of AI. For practitioners deeply immersed in the world of AI, Lane and Sethumadhavan offer firsthand accounts and insights from technologists, academics, and thought leaders, as well as a series of compelling case studies, ...
In this volume we present the contributions for the 18th European Conference on Genetic Programming (EuroGP 2005). The conference took place from 30 March to 1 April in Lausanne, Switzerland. EuroGP is a well-established conf- ence and the only one exclusively devoted to genetic programming. All previous proceedings were published by Springer in the LNCS series. From the outset, EuroGP has been co-located with the EvoWorkshops focusing on applications of evolutionary computation. Since 2004, EvoCOP, the conference on evolutionary combinatorial optimization, has also been co-located with EuroGP, making this year’s combined events one of the largest dedicated to evolutionary computation in E...
Readers will find here a fascinating text that is the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the 9th Workshop on the Foundations of Genetic Algorithms, FOGA 2007, held in Mexico City in January 2007. The 11 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected during two rounds of reviewing and improvement from 22 submissions. The papers address all current topics in the field of theoretical evolutionary computation and also depict the continuing growth in interactions with other fields such as mathematics, physics, and biology
Soft Computing has emerged as an important approach towards achieving intelligent computational paradigms where key elements are learning from experience in the presence of uncertainties, fuzzy belief functioos, and ·evolutioo of the computing strategies of the learning agent itself. Fuzzy, neural and evolutionary computing are the three major themes of soft computing. The book presents original research papers dealing with the theory of soft computing and its applicatioos in engineering design and manufacturing. The methodologies have been applied to a large variety of real life problems. Applicatioo of soft computing has provided the opportunity to integrate human like 'vagueness' and rea...
The 11th European Conference on Genetic Programming, EuroGP 2008, took place in Naples, Italy from 26 to 28 March in the University of Naples Congress Centre with spectacular views over the Gulf of Naples. This volume contains the papers for the 21 oral presentations and 10 posters that were presented during this time. A diverse array of topics were covered re?ecting the current state of research in the ?eld of Genetic Programming, including the latest work on representations, theory, operators and analysis, evolvable hardware, agents and numerous applications. A rigorous, double-blind peer review process was employed, with each s- mission reviewed by at least three members of the internatio...
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th European Conference on Genetic Programming, EuroGP 2009, held in Tübingen, Germany, in April 2009 colocated with the Evo* 2009 events. The 21 revised plenary papers and 9 revised poster papers were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 57 submissions. A great variety of topics are presented reflecting the current state of research in the field of genetic programming, including the latest work on representations, theory, operators and analysis, feature selection, generalisation, coevolution and numerous applications.
We are proud to introduce the proceedings of the Seventh International C- ference on Parallel Problem Solving from Nature, PPSN VII, held in Granada, Spain, on 7–11 September 2002. PPSN VII was organized back-to-back with the Foundations of Genetic Algorithms (FOGA) conference, which took place in Torremolinos, Malaga, Spain, in the preceding week. ThePPSNseriesofconferencesstartedinDortmund,Germany[1].Fromthat pioneering meeting, the event has been held biennially, in Brussels, Belgium [2], Jerusalem, Israel [3], Berlin, Germany [4], Amsterdam, The Netherlands [5], and Paris, France [6]. During the Paris conference, several bids to host PPSN 2002 were put forward; it was decided that the ...
This book constitutes the refereed post-workshop proceedings of the AISB International Workshop on Evolutionary Computing, held in Manchester, UK, in April 1997. The 22 strictly reviewed and revised full papers presented were selected for inclusion in the book after two rounds of refereeing. The papers are organized in sections on evolutionary approaches to issues in biology and economics, problem structure and finite landscapes, evolutionary machine learning and classifier systems, evolutionary scheduling, and more techniques and applications of evolutionary algorithms.
The set LNCS 2723 and LNCS 2724 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference, GECCO 2003, held in Chicago, IL, USA in July 2003. The 193 revised full papers and 93 poster papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 417 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on a-life adaptive behavior, agents, and ant colony optimization; artificial immune systems; coevolution; DNA, molecular, and quantum computing; evolvable hardware; evolutionary robotics; evolution strategies and evolutionary programming; evolutionary sheduling routing; genetic algorithms; genetic programming; learning classifier systems; real-world applications; and search based software engineering.
