Riley is a student at Billa-Aid high school where the girls whisper about boys smiling at them in the hallway and the students stay up all night stressed about marks on papers. She has built her life and identity based on the expectations and requirements of the world around her and the people in her life. Rileys love for competition and enjoyment of success drives her passion to be the best. She can find this success in sports and builds her life based on her athletic abilities. Plus it seems that gyms and fields are great atmospheres for good-looking boys to hang out. Riley doesnt realize her impact and unseen identity aside from her athletic forefront until one day all of this, all she has ever known is stripped away. She no longer has the opportunity to feel the success of a winning shot, basket, goal, tri, or birdie hitting the court. Riley realizes the love for people and life goes much deeper then she could have ever known. Riley learns to see the light of the world from this new darkness she is forced into.

"But the most important information you gather about a person are not the things they tell you. It's what they show you. How they treat people, how they treat you. This is what hooks you in, what keeps you talking to them. And this is what you trust. ...All of this combined is what most people base all their judgments on, what you can't control....Or what you think you can't control. Because in the short time I've been on this planet, I've learned something. People can lie about those subtleties. They can manipulate their own personages enough to manipulate other people, too. I may not be able to see them do it, but I know. I know what people are capable of when you least expect it."

Thirty-three-year-old William Bradford and his close friend, sixty-year-old Thomas Wingate, are disillusioned with the excessive expenditures of the federal government. They launch a website, www.SaveAmerica.com, to influence government and the voting populace. Bradford and Wingate offer a one million dollar reward to any person who can rid the federal government of the most fiscally irresponsible Congressmen. At intervals, the Save America team, based in Aiken, South Carolina, features a different fiscally irresponsible politician on its site, and those selected will consider almost any requests in exchange for their names and image to be deleted from www.SaveAmerica.com. Senator Jones is one of these men. Hes been on Capitol Hill for five terms and has been a fixture in the Senate for thirty years. A day after his image appears on Save America, Jones is killed and many blame www.SaveAmerica. But donations continue to pour in, providing William and Thomas additional funds to support their effort. While trying to maintain their obscurity, William and Thomas must overcome a host of obstacles to help them attain their goal of curtailing excessive government spending.

A collection of short stories with a few essays and poems written by Mack Willard Riley, an extraordinarily successful blind man who became a teacher, journalist, political activist for persons with disabilities and even a single father despite his physical challenge of Glaucoma blindness. This book is the first extensive collection of his writings. Mack takes us on a nostalgic journey from growing up in the small Mississippi town of Itawamba, exploring the world abroad and returning home.
