I want to share with you some thoughts concerning the life of David. Just like you and I, David faced circumstances and obstacles in life that had the potential to detour him. I view each of these encounters as a place on the roadmap of life. That place declares where we are in our walk with God and gives reference to our potential of fulfilling His will and purpose in and for our lives. In other words, where we are in Him is important. Each step of a righteous man is ordered of God. It is important for us to understand that God will tell us each step to be taken. It is equally important to accept that God uses each of those steps to confirm his leading us to that place of righteousness in Him.

Behind the Wire

Before World War I the Geneva Convention established 'rules' for the treatment of Prisoners of War, and all belligerents during the war were to adhere to them; however, the rules were in many ways ambiguous and as a result, the treatment of POWs varied from nation to nation. In this book Robert Jackson examines the treatment POWs received from both sides of the lines, from British airmen shot down to German POWs and from American escapes to the armistice.

Sovereignty is at the very centre of the political and legal arrangements of the modern world. The idea originated in the controversies and wars, both religious and political, of 16th and 17th century Europe and since that time it has continued to spread and evolve. Today sovereignty is a global system of authority: it extends across all religions, civilizations, languages, cultures, ethnic and racial groupings, and other collectivities into which humanity is divided. In this highly accessible book, Robert Jackson provides a concise and comprehensive introduction to the history and meaning of sovereignty. Drawing on a wide range of examples from the US Declaration of Independence to terroris...

Quasi-States

  • Categories: Law

In this book, Professor Robert Jackson develops an original interpretation of Third World underdevelopment, explaining it in terms of international relations and law. He describes Third World countries as â€~quasi-states', arguing that they are states in name only, demonstrating how international changes during the post-1945 period made it possible for many quasi-states to be created and to survive despite the fact that they are usually inefficient, illegitimate and domestically unstable.

Hit & Run

The book describes some of the most daring air attacks of World War II. Some were outstanding successes and some were unmitigated disasters. North Sea Battle: In the early weeks of World War II, Britain and Germany were determined to attack one another's warships in their respective naval bases. Both RAF and Luftwaffe learned the folly of sending unescorted bombers into enemy territory. Flames over France: In May 1940, the RAF and French Air Force launched a series of desperate hit-and-run attacks on the German armored columns advancing into France and Belgium. The cost was appalling. Precision Attack: In August 1940, a newly-formed Luftwaffe unit called Erprobungsgruppe 210 (Test Group 210)...
