Antecedents of Early Man in Northwestern India
The quest for knowledge abotu 'Early Man and his Antecedents' has always attracted mankind. The oldest written record in this reagard date back to 500 B.C. with Ancient Greeks but actual studies in paleoecology began in the real sense in the 18th and 19th century. The Siwalik deposits of Indian Sub Continent have been known for its vertebrate fossils since 1837 but the record fo paleeocological studies on these sediments is meagre. In this book, Dr. R.N. Vasishat presents his original research and data collected during the last fifteen eyars. The first chapter provides an informed glimpse into the historical perspective of palaeoprimatological, palaeontological, geological and archaeological studies i the Siwaliks with a particular emphasis on Northwestern India.
