upward beyond the brim

As Ruby Agnir continues to be spiritually inspired by events in her life, she writes down every thought or paragraph with the intent of sharing it with others. This book is a collection of those ideas, some serious, some lyrical, some wild, mostly spiritual, all utterly human. The title is self-explanatory. Like coffee poured into a cup to overflowing, the thoughts go “beyond the brim,” but rather than drop down because of gravity, they go upward unfettered, rising like a vapor and blending with the space above. They are the author’s “Thoughts outside the Box.” These are Ruby Agnir’s beliefs, concepts, notions, and inferences. Gleaning from readings and experiences and collecting from books, from newspapers, from the silver screen, from the Internet, she has chosen those that are relevant to her way of thinking, rolled them up into a ball and stamped it with her own identifying mark.

Fairy Gifts (Tales of Enchantment)

This book was written in answer to the complaint that there are not enough good plays for Youth Theater to produce. Youth Theater is a worthwhile activity for young people to indulge in after class or after school, preempting or preventing involvement in harmful activities otherwise. Fairy Gifts (Tales of Enchantment) is a set of 5 plays written in response to that need. Like most plays designed for Youth Theater, the cast of each play could be all children/young people, a mixture of adults and children, or all adults performing for children. The plays are based on unfamiliar fairytales and folktales from around the world, to wit: Fairy Gifts from the French fairy tale by Count de Caylus; Th...

The Himalayas have captivated the imagination and interest of humankind for centuries. The more we explore, the more we learn. India's rich history, society, and culture, are deeply influenced by the world's tallest mountain range. After all, before modern travel, the Himalayas were the most important gateway to India, for people, goods and ideas. This rare and invaluable record of the youngest mountain range in the world is back in print after a century. The extensively detailed information on every district, food habits, customs, influences, as well as the people and their vocations will provide a new perspective to a whole new generation of young readers. The aim of this publication is to make Atkinson's rich data accessible once again to researchers so that we can continue to refer to this rich source of information in our continued work to conserve the rich natural resources and ecological heritage of the Himalayas which stand frighteningly threatened by fast paced and largely unplanned development.
