Interventional cardiology means the cardiological practice of the future. This book provides the physician with practical guidelines to interventions. All procedures involving modern technology and drugs are described with emphasis on the "how to" aspects. The indications, techniques, results and merits of each procedure are given. These include: coronary angioplasty and angioscopy, valvuloplasty, lasers and cardiac transplantation as well as basic procedures such as cardiac catheterization, electrophysiologic studies and automatic implantable defibrillators. Readers of the book will find the way to new dimensions in cardiologic practice.
This book provides aspiring quant developers with the numerical techniques and programming skills needed in quantitative finance. No programming background required.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Tools and Algorithms for the Construction and Analysis of Systems, TACAS 2011, held in Saarbrücken, Germany, March 26—April 3, 2011, as part of ETAPS 2011, the European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software. The 32 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 112 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on memory models and consistency, invariants and termination, timed and probabilistic systems, interpolations and SAT-solvers, learning, model checking, games and automata, verification, and probabilistic systems.
The two-volume set LNAI 10245 and LNAI 10246 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing, ICAISC 2017, held in Zakopane, Poland in June 2017. The 133 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 274 submissions. The papers included in the second volume are organized in the following five parts: data mining; artificial intelligence in modeling, simulation and control; various problems of artificial intelligence; special session: advances in single-objective continuous parameter optimization with nature-inspired algorithms; special session: stream data mining.
Edited in collaboration with FoLLI, the Association of Logic, Language and Information this book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 23rd Workshop on Logic, Language, Information and Communication, WoLLIC 2016, held in Puebla, Mexico, in August 2016.The 23 contributed papers, presented together with 9 invited lectures and tutorials, were carefully reviewed and selected from 33 submissions. The focus of the workshop is to provide a forum on inter-disciplinary research involving formal logic, computing and programming theory, and natural language and reasoning.
Although the monograph Progress in Optimization I: Contributions from Aus tralasia grew from the idea of publishing a proceedings of the Fourth Optimiza tion Day, held in July 1997 at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, the focus soon changed to a refereed volume in optimization. The intention is to publish a similar book annually, following each Optimization Day. The idea of having an annual Optimization Day was conceived by Barney Glover; the first of these Optimization Days was held in 1994 at the University of Ballarat. Barney hoped that such a yearly event would bring together the many, but widely dispersed, researchers in Australia who were publishing in optimization and relat...
