This volume surveys three decades of modern robot control theory and describes how the work of Suguru Arimoto shaped its development. Twelve survey articles written by experts associated with Suguru Arimoto at various stages in his career treat the subject comprehensively. This book provides an important reference for graduate students and researchers, as well as for mathematicians, engineers and scientists whose work involves robot control theory.
The purpose of this annual series, Applied and Computational Control, Signals, and Circuits, is to keep abreast of the fast-paced developments in computational mathematics and scientific computing and their increasing use by researchers and engineers in control, signals, and circuits. The series is dedicated to fostering effective communication between mathematicians, computer scientists, computational scientists, software engineers, theorists, and practicing engineers. This interdisciplinary scope is meant to blend areas of mathematics (such as linear algebra, operator theory, and certain branches of analysis) and computational mathematics (numerical linear algebra, numerical differential e...
This book presents and facilitates new research and development results with hot topics in the thermoelectric generators (TEGs) field. Topics include: novel thin film; multilayer, composite and nanostructured thermoelectric materials; simulation of phenomena related to thermoelectricity; thermoelectric thin film and multilayer materials manufacturing technologies; measurement techniques for characterization; thermoelectric generators; and the simulation, modeling, design, thermal, and mechanical degradation problems. This book helps researchers tackle the challenges that still remain in creating cheap and effective TEGs and presents the latest trends and technologies in development and production of advanced thermoelectric generation devices.
This work focuses on the Limited Information Shared Control and its controller design using potential games. Through the developed systematic controller design, the experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of this concept compared to traditional manual and non-cooperative control approaches in the application of large vehicle manipulators.
Random fading communication is a type of attenuation damage of data over certain propagation media. Establishing a systematic framework for the design and analysis of learning control schemes, the book studies in depth the iterative learning control for stochastic systems with random fading communication. The authors introduce both cases where the statistics of the random fading channels are known in advance and unknown. They then extend the framework to other systems, including multi-agent systems, point-to-point tracking systems, and multi-sensor systems. More importantly, a learning control scheme is established to solve the multi-objective tracking problem with faded measurements, which can help practical applications of learning control for high-precision tracking of networked systems. The book will be of interest to researchers and engineers interested in learning control, data-driven control, and networked control systems.
