Recent Progress in Algebra

This volume presents the proceedings of the international conference on Recent Progress in Algebra that was held at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS). It brought together experts in the field to discuss progress in algebra, combinatorics, algebraic geometry and number theory. This book contains selected papers contributed by conference participants. The papers cover a wide range of topics and reflect the current state of research in modern algebra.

The Cryptographers’ Track (CT-RSA) is a research conference within the RSA conference, the largest, regularly staged computer security event. CT-RSA 2004 was the fourth year of the Cryptographers’ Track, and it is now an established venue for presenting practical research results related to cryptography and data security. The conference received 77 submissions, and the program committee sel- ted 28 of these for presentation. The program committee worked very hard to evaluate the papers with respect to quality, originality, and relevance to cryp- graphy. Each paper was reviewed by at least three program committee members. Extended abstracts of the revised versions of these papers are in these proc- dings. The program also included two invited lectures by Dan Boneh and Silvio Micali. I am extremely grateful to the program committee members for their en- mous investment of time and e?ort in the di?cult and delicate process of review and selection. Many of them attended the program committee meeting during the Crypto 2003 conference at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the International Conference on the Theory and Applications of Cryptographic Techniques, EUROCRYPT 2003, held in Warsaw, Poland in May 2003. The 37 revised full papers presented together with two invited papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 156 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on cryptanalysis, secure multi-party communication, zero-knowledge protocols, foundations and complexity-theoretic security, public key encryption, new primitives, elliptic curve cryptography, digital signatures, information-theoretic cryptography, and group signatures.

Advances in Cryptology -- CRYPTO 2003

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 23rd Annual International Cryptology Conference, CRYPTO 2003, held in Santa Barbara, California in August 2003. The 34 revised full papers presented together with 2 invited papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 166 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on public key cryptanalysis, alternate adversary models, protocols, symmetric key cryptanalysis, universal composability, zero knowledge, algebraic geometry, public key constructions, new problems, symmetric key constructions, and new models.

Crypto 2001, the 21st Annual Crypto conference, was sponsored by the Int- national Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR) in cooperation with the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Security and Privacy and the Computer Science Department of the University of California at Santa Barbara. The conference received 156 submissions, of which the program committee selected 34 for presentation; one was later withdrawn. These proceedings contain the revised versions of the 33 submissions that were presented at the conference. These revisions have not been checked for correctness, and the authors bear full responsibility for the contents of their papers. The conference program included ...

The Functional and Harmonic Analysis of Wavelets and Frames

Over the past decade, wavelets and frames have emerged as increasingly powerful tools of analysis on $n$-dimension Euclidean space. Both wavelets and frames were studied initially by using classical Fourier analysis. However, in recent years more abstract tools have been introduced, for example, from operator theory, abstract harmonic analysis, von Neumann algebras, etc. The editors of this volume organized a Special Session on the functional and harmonic analysis of wavelets at the San Antonio (TX) Joint Mathematics Meetings. The goal of the session was to focus research attention on these newly-introduced tools and to share the organizers' view that this modern application holds the promise of providing some deeper understanding and fascinating new structures in pure functional analysis. This volume presents the fruitful results of the lively discussions that took place at the conference

Geometry and Topology in Dynamics

This volume consists of the written presentations of lectures given at two special sessions: the AMS Special Session on Topology in Dynamics (Winston-Salem, NC) and the AMS-AWM Special Session on Geometry in Dynamics (San Antonio, TX). Each article concerns aspects of the topology or geometry of dynamical systems. Topics covered include the following: foliations and laminations, iterated function systems, the three-body problem, isotopy stability, homoclinic tangles, fractal dimension, Morse homology, knotted orbits, inverse limits, contact structures, Grassmanians, blowups, and continua. New results are presented reflecting current trends in topological aspects of dynamical systems. The book offers a wide variety of topics of special interest to those working this area bridging topology and dynamical systems.

Low Dimensional Topology

"The book has two main parts. The first is devoted to the Poincare conjecture, characterizations of PL-manifolds, covering quadratic forms of links and to categories in low dimensional topology that appear in connection with conformal and quantum field theory.

Applications of Curves Over Finite Fields

This volume presents the results of the AMS-IMS-SIAM Joint Summer Research Conference held at the University of Washington (Seattle). The talks were devoted to various aspects of the theory of algebraic curves over finite fields and its numerous applications. The three basic themes are the following: Curves with many rational points. Several articles describe main approaches to the construction of such curves: the Drinfeld modules and fiber product methods, the moduli space approach, and the constructions using classical curves; Monodromy groups of characteristic $p$ covers. A number of authors presented the results and conjectures related to the study of the monodromy groups of curves over ...
