Enjoy this stunning limited edition, including an exclusive 8 x 10 inches digital print signed by Marc and Sara Schiller "Artists covered the interior walls with their latest, most ambitious efforts, transforming a casual auld-lang-syne get-together into a state-of-the-art statement that ranged from classic tagging to new adventures in papering, printing, varnishing, installation and, in one impressive instance, crayon. There were lines around the block." Roberta Smith, The New York Times In December of 2006, an unlikely group of nearly 100 street artists from all over the world came together to participate in an art show celebrating Eleven Spring Street, long a premiere destination on the i...

This volume was first published by Inter-Disciplinary Press in 2014. The term ‘performance practice’ houses within it a diversity of practices and artists whose work extends and interrogates the boundaries between theatre and nearly all other creative art forms. This volume contains diverse theoretical and creative essays all of which manifest a commitment to exploring the complexity of relationships between performer, space, and audience. The work investigated is not subsumed within disciplines, but cuts across and between disciplinary vocabularies providing new synergies, domains, and inter-disciplinary possibilities. Revolutionary innovations and experimentations are presented in the fields of motion graphics, design and scenography. Readers will discover the challenges and ingenuities of the imaginary, and the dynamics of performance as it intersects with the physical construction of space. The mysteries of what denotes ‘liveness’ will be unveiled, The Barber of Seville will be re-imagined through juvenile intervention, and Shakespeare is viewed through the hypnagogic imagination against the nothingness of Venetian mystique.

Interprets popular art forms as exhibiting core anarchist values and presaging a more democratic world. Situated at the intersection of anarchist and democratic theory, Anarchism and Art focuses on four popular art forms—DIY (Do It Yourself) punk music, poetry slam, graffiti and street art, and flash mobs—found in the cracks between dominant political, economic, and cultural institutions and on the margins of mainstream neoliberal society. Mark Mattern interprets these popular art forms in terms of core anarchist values of autonomy, equality, decentralized and horizontal forms of power, and direct action by common people, who refuse the terms offered them by neoliberalism while creating pr...
