The Medieval Houses of Kent
An inventory of all the surviving timber-framed houses built in the Middle Ages, complete with documentation of the history of each house and shedding new light on Medieval building in England. There are more of these houses found in Kent, a county southeast in England, than anywhere in the world.
History of Perquimans County
Here is a county history that is extraordinarily rich in primary source materials, including abstracts of deeds from 1681 through the Revolutionary War period and, moreover, petitions, divisions of estates, wills, and marriages found in the records of Perquimans and adjacent North Carolina counties. Numbering in the tens of thousands, the records provide the names of all principal parties and related family members, places of residence and migration, descriptions of real and personal property, dates, boundary surveys, names of executors, witnesses, and appraisers, and dates of recording. Altogether, the index contains references to about 35,000 persons! Researchers should note that Perquimans was one of the original North Carolina precincts--with very close ties to the southeastern Virginia counties of Norfolk, Princess Anne, Nansemond, and Isle of Wight--and for many years had fluid boundaries with the North Carolina counties of Chowan, Gates, and Pasquotank.

This is the third volume of Anthony Emery's magisterial survey, Greater Medieval Houses of England and Wales, 1300–1500, first published in 2006. Across the three volumes Emery has examined afresh and re-assessed over 750 houses, the first comprehensive review of the subject for 150 years. Covered are the full range of leading homes, from royal and episcopal palaces to manor houses, as well as community buildings such as academic colleges, monastic granges and secular colleges of canons. This volume surveys Southern England and is divided into three regions, each of which includes a separate historical and architectural introduction as well as thematic essays prompted by key buildings. The text is complemented throughout by a wide range of plans and diagrams and a wealth of photographs showing the present condition of almost every house discussed. Notes on the Pearson, West, and Morris Families of England, Wales, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia
Sarah Pearson (1697-1759?) married John West (1690-1776) about 1718 and lived in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. A daughter, Mary West (1721-1808), married Jonathan Morris (1727-1790?) and later moved to Washington County, Pennsylvania.
