This report contains descriptive summaries of 38 projects under the Applied Research, Technology Development and Transfer, and Decision Support sub-programs, and three Socio-Economic Analysis projects. A field experiment to assess performance of jack pine in relation to mechanical site preparation (including Bracke scarification with and without various kinds of mounding) and chemical site preparation were begun in 1984 on deep silt loam about 200 km north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. One of 20 different treatments was applied to each of the 4480 trees planted. Assessments were conducted annually for 3 years.
