This is a book comprising selected papers of colleagues and friends of Heinrich Begehr on the occasion of his 80th birthday. It aims at being a tribute to the excellent achievements of Heinrich Begehr in complex analysis and complex differential equations, and especially to his prominent role as one of the creators and long-time leader of the International Society for Analysis, its Applications and Computation (ISAAC).
Current Trends in Analysis and Its Applications
This book is a collection of papers from the 9th International ISAAC Congress held in 2013 in Kraków, Poland. Modern Problems in Applied Analysis
This book features a collection of recent findings in Applied Real and Complex Analysis that were presented at the 3rd International Conference “Boundary Value Problems, Functional Equations and Applications” (BAF-3), held in Rzeszow, Poland on 20-23 April 2016. The contributions presented here develop a technique related to the scope of the workshop and touching on the fields of differential and functional equations, complex and real analysis, with a special emphasis on topics related to boundary value problems. Further, the papers discuss various applications of the technique, mainly in solid mechanics (crack propagation, conductivity of composite materials), biomechanics (viscoelastic behavior of the periodontal ligament, modeling of swarms) and fluid dynamics (Stokes and Brinkman type flows, Hele-Shaw type flows). More Progresses In Analysis - Proceedings Of The 5th International Isaac Congress
International ISAAC (International Society for Analysis, its Applications and Computation) Congresses have been held every second year since 1997. The proceedings report on a regular basis on the progresses of the field in recent years, where the most active areas in analysis, its applications and computation are covered. Plenary lectures also highlight recent results. This volume concentrates mainly on partial differential equations, but also includes function spaces, operator theory, integral transforms and equations, potential theory, complex analysis and generalizations, stochastic analysis, inverse problems, homogenization, continuum mechanics, mathematical biology and medicine. With over 350 participants attending the congress, the book comprises 140 papers from 211 authors.The volume also serves for transferring personal information about the ISAAC and its members. Inverse Problems for Fractional Partial Differential Equations
As the title of the book indicates, this is primarily a book on partial differential equations (PDEs) with two definite slants: toward inverse problems and to the inclusion of fractional derivatives. The standard paradigm, or direct problem, is to take a PDE, including all coefficients and initial/boundary conditions, and to determine the solution. The inverse problem reverses this approach asking what information about coefficients of the model can be obtained from partial information on the solution.
