William Isles (b. 1795) was born in Buscot, Berkshire, England. to Francis and Mary (Owen) Isles. He accepted a one-hundred acre grant of land in Dalhousie, Annapolis County in Nova Scotia in 1818 after serving in the army. Here he met and married Susan Browne.
