This book advances a conceptualisation of gender identity within Diversity Management in organisations that takes into account the linkages between individual and organisational identity, thus moving from liminality, where gender is considered merely as a binary and diversity as something to manage, to inclusion, where diversity means a commitment to supporting a processual way to approach both belongingness and uniqueness within organisation. Through the use of Critical Discourse Analysis, the book investigates a series of UK county-based public and private bodies, combining the analysis of interviews with a set of policy documents. In this way, this contribution explores what challenges Diversity Management in organisations has to cope with, and to what extent the relationship between individual and organisational identity can help us prevent any form of discrimination and foster inclusiveness in organisations.

The aim of this book is to contribute to a critical assessment of the literature on the creative city and to a clarification of some of the many questions that remain unanswered. It is a collection of essays which, in the first part, addresses concepts and theories of urban development, city marketing and branding, presented as a framework in which the discourse of the creative city is embedded. In the second part, four case studies of cities considered to be emblematic of cultural industries (Manchester, Berlin, Dublin, and a comparative study of Milan and London) serve to illustrate the social production of creativity in specific urban contexts.
The authors discuss the role of local institutions in coordinating business activities and unleashing entrepreneurship, arguing that the sudden growth of new firms and industries is facilitated by changes in business behaviour and institutions. Initial private exchange and investment in an environment of ill-functioning markets are shown to depend on local networks and local business culture which, in turn, rely on local tax regimes setting incentives for inherited bureaucracies to engage in economic transformation. Finally, the book establishes local institutions and local governance as crucial dimensions of China¿s emerging business system.
