Dental photography is an essential part of modern dental practice. Whilst in previous years, a single lens reflex camera was the typical means to obtain dental images, nowadays, digital photographs are an invaluable asset for case documentation, analysis, and aesthetic treatment planning, forming an indispensable basis for effective communication with patients and the dental laboratory. This book is a practical guide to clinical dental photography using a digital single-lens camera (DSLR). Beginning with an introduction to the DSLR camera, the next chapters cover the macro lens, lighting systems and setting up the camera for clinical use. The following sections discuss accessories and compare the different lighting systems for photography of the teeth and face. Compiled by a recognised, UK-based dental surgeon, this book is highly illustrated with nearly 500 clinical photographs and figures. Providing practical, visually oriented guidance on the benefits of botulinum toxin in a wide variety of disorders, some new and unexpected, this new edition of Manual of Botulinum Toxin Therapy is fully updated in scope and detail. Chapters discuss the pathophysiology of each condition, summarizing the rationale for botulinum toxin, and describing the injection approach. Clear illustrations of the injection sites are included, using a 'clinician's eye' perspective, which allows physicians to readily identify anatomical landmarks and approach angles for injection. Dosing tables for available toxin formulations are included. The Manual covers cosmetic treatment of the upper and lower face, as well as aesthetic smile correction. Extensive guidance on how to use ultrasound and how cadaveric dissections can assist localization and targeting of injections is provided. Designed for teaching and bedside guidance, the Manual is useful to a diverse range of clinicians looking to use botulinum toxin in their practice.
What if you could tell, just by looking at others, how they tend to think, feel, and behave? What if your partner's face revealed the best way to resolve any conflicts between you? And what if you could discover in your own face the wisdom that you need in order to be your true self? Based on the same ancient foundation as acupuncture and Chinese medicine, face reading has been in the ''research and development'' phase for over 3,000 years. When translated to make it meaningful for our Western lives, it's a powerful source of wisdom that we can all access. Chinese face reading shows you how to live your life in alignment with your own natural flow, find the life path that gives you joy, attract relationships that nurture you, and most of all, enable you to feel compassion for yourself and others. This book will forever change how you see yourself . . . and all the people in your life!

This book argues that 'the generation gap' in Japan is something more than young people resisting the adult social order before entering and conforming to that order. Rather, it signifies something more fundamental: the emergence of a new Japan, which may be quite different from the Japan of postwar decades. It argues that while young people in Japan in their teens, twenties and early thirties are not engaged in overt social or political resistance, they are turning against the existing Japanese social order, whose legitimacy has been undermined by the past decade of economic downturn. The book shows how young people in Japan are thinking about their bodies and identities, their social relationships, and their employment and parenting, in new and generationally contextual ways, that may help to create a future Japan quite different from Japan of the recent past.
