Forever Faithful
This is the third in a series of genealogical studies of German families that emigrated to the Kingdom of Hungary in the early 18th century and settled in Somogy County. Kötcse is the oldest of the three major German Lutheran parishes that evolved and numerous families from Kötcse were instrumental in the establishment of the other two. The family histories of those who settled in the parish of Somogydöröcske are included in the volume: Dörnberg: In the Shadow of the Josefsberg; and those from the parish of Ecsény in From Toleration to Expulsion that both preceded this publication. In addition to the genealogical information the author provides the historical context and other information vital to an understanding of the lifestyle, traditions and ultimate destiny of their sojourn in Hungary and beyond.

Seemingly almost in accordance to the political behavior of the former S-administration, promptly demanded answers for questions of a kind not being posed before by the public, led to quite a variety of outcomes that can be subsumed the same way the socio-critical American journalist Henry Louise Mencken noted as early as 1920: “There is always a well-known solution to every human problem – neat, plausible, and wrong.”. This paper takes a close look at the three R ́s of revenge, renown and reaction that the wellknown political scientist Louise Richardson identified as the immediate motives of terrorists and hence sine qua non for the phenomenon.

Joseph Henry Blackburne
During a career spanning more than 50 years, J.H. Blackburne (1841–1924) won the British Chess Championship and several international tournaments, at his peak becoming one of the world’s top three chess masters. A professional player who derived his livelihood from annual tours of chess clubs in England and other countries, entertaining and teaching amateur players, he astonished his contemporaries by the ease with which he played the game without sight of the chessboard. At 21, he set a world record for such exhibitions, competing against 12 club players simultaneously, and he continued to perform “blindfold” into his sixties.
