This book investigates the life and leadership of Lewi Pethrus, a monumental figure in Swedish and international Pentecostalism. Joel Halldorf describes Pethrus’ role in the emergence of Pentecostalism in Sweden, the ideals and practices of Swedish Pentecostalism, and the movement’s turn to professional party politics. When Pentecostals in the USA ventured into politics, they became allied with the Republican party, and later Donald Trump. The Swedish Pentecostals took another route: while culturally conservative, they embraced the progressive economic politics of the Social Democratic party. During the 2010s, they have also rejected the nationalism of the growing populist movement. Halldorf analyzes and explains these differences between Swedish evangelicals and Pentecostals on the one hand, and the Religious Right in the USA on the other.

SVEN HECTOR Oroväckande präst krigsvintern 1939-40 Sven Hector (1906-85) var präst i Karlstads stift, under trettio år i Eda församling vid norska gränsen och därefter 1963-71 i Nyskoga församling i norra Värmland. Han var som teolog lutherskt förankrad och var politiskt marxist. På 60-talet satt Sven Hector under en mandatperiod i riksdagen för Sveriges Kommunistiska Parti, men var aldrig partiansluten. Under andra världskriget blev han anklagad för att väcka oro genom sin politiska hållning, blev utsatt för ryktesspridning och uthängd i pressen. I januari 1939-40 blev det därför extra visitation i Eda församling, varefter biskop Arvid Runestam tvingade Sven Hector att begära tjänstledighet under fyra månader. Denna bok innehåller en dokumentation kring dessa händelser, som inte tidigare gjorts. Här finns domkapitlets protokoll, tidningsurklipp, predikningar, föredrag och några personliga brev där Sven Hector själv lägger fram sin syn på saken. Flüchtling in drei Ländern

In seinen hier präsentierten Aufzeichnungen erzählt er, wie er die Industrialisierung und Kollektivierung unter Stalin erlebte und den "Säuberungen" entkam. In Deutschland von den Nationalsozialisten verfolgt und von der KOMINTERN auf eine Todesliste gesetzt, fand er Zuflucht in Schweden. Dort entwickelte der Bauhäusler und Schüler von Bruno Taut und Arthur Korn auch seine Vorstellungen eines umweltkonformen Tourismus. Anmerkungen und Nachwort kontextualisieren das Schicksal dieses "Flüchtlings in drei Ländern".
