Each illustrated case scenario contains multiple-choice questions along with detailed explanations and references in an ideal format for review or self assessment of diagnostic skills and decision making. Authored by distinguished faculty at John Hopkins University, the atlas covers all major topics within cytopathology. Each clinical case scenario includes representative images and clinical history, diagnostic question, and detailed discussion supported by thoughtfully selected key references. Cases are presented in rand...
Atlas of Pulmonary Cytopathology: With Histopathologic Correlations offers concrete diagnostic guidance for anatomic pathologists to accurately identify pulmonary disease using exfoliative and fine needle aspiration techniques. It not only illustrates the classic cytomorphology of common lung lesions, but also presents and contrasts important problem areas that can lead to erroneous interpretation. Clearly and concisely written by leaders in the field, this volume is a practical desk reference for all facets of the diagnostically challenging areas of pulmonary cytopathology. The Atlas features more than 500 carefully selected high-resolution images detailing important aspects of the full ran...
Atlas of Exfoliative Cytopathology with Histopathologic Correlations is a comprehensive reference for interpreting body cavity fluid, respiratory, and gastrointestinal exfoliative cytopathology specimens. Generously illustrated and user-friendly, this Atlas guides the reader through common and unusual non-gynecologic and non-urinary exfoliative specimens to detect neoplastic and non-neoplastic disease. Over 500 high-resolution color images demonstrate the important cytomorphological features and pitfalls encountered in exfoliative specimens. The book provides detailed descriptions for entities encompassing variations of benign serous lesions, peritoneal, pericardial and pleural fluids, cereb...

Atlas of Salivary Gland Cytopathology with Histopathologic Correlations is a comprehensive diagnostic guide for anatomic pathologists that accurately identifies salivary gland disease using fine needle aspiration (FNA). It not only illustrates the cytomorphology and histology of salivary gland specimens, but also presents and contrasts common problem areas that can lead to erroneous interpretation. Clearly and concisely written by leaders in the field, this extensive volume is a handy, practical desk reference for all facets of the diagnostically challenging area of salivary gland cytopathology. The Atlas features more than 400 carefully selected high-resolution color images detailing critic...
"Clinical and radiologic examinations cannot reliably distinguish benign or inflammatory pancreatic disease from carcinoma. The increased use of pancreatic fine needle aspiration (FNA) along with advances in imaging techniques and the introduction of endoscopic ultrasound guidance have led to significantly better detection and recognition of pancreatic masses. Consequently, pancreatic cytopathology is integral to accurate pre-operative diagnosis yet it is a challenging diagnostic area with a variety of potential pitfalls and "look-alike" lesions. Skillful recognition and an awareness of the limitations of the procedure are essential in avoiding misdiagnosis of these dangerous lesions. Atlas ...
This Atlas offers concrete diagnostic guidance for anatomic pathologists to accurately identify gynecologic tract disease using PAP tests. It not only illustrates the cytomorphology of cervical specimens, but also presents and contrasts common problem areas that can lead to erroneous interpretation. Clearly and concisely written by leaders in the field, this volume is a practical desk reference for all facets of the diagnostically challenging area of gynecological tract exfoliative cytopathology. The Atlas features nearly 500 carefully selected high-resolution color images detailing important aspects of gynecologic tract disease. Additionally, the bookís images of the histopathology and gro...
Exfoliative and instrumented (catheterized) urines are the most common types of specimens evaluated in a cytology laboratory. The typical clinical presentation is a patient with new onset of urinary symptoms, asymptomatic hematuria, or patient with prior history of urothelial carcinoma on routine surveillance. A careful examination of exfoliated cells from the urinary tract can lead to a fast, relatively simple, economical and accurate cytopathologic diagnosis, which is crucial for timely patient management. However, there are a number of common non-neoplastic reactive conditions that can morp.
This outstanding new atlas makes it easy to interpret intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography findings for both healthy and diseased patients. A multidisciplinary team uses clinical case studies to explore the characteristic intraoperative TEE findings for every type of cardiac abnormality, along with correlative imaging and pathology findings.
The Atlas of Urinary Cytopathology is a generously illustrated and user-friendly volume that serves as a desk reference and a practical guide in the diagnostically challenging are of urinary cytopathology. The text is comprised of 500 high-resolution color images that thoroughly illustrate the important aspects of the cytopathology of urinary tract disease. Complete coverage of urinary cytopathology is provided; in addition to full coverage of non-neoplastic lesions, benign and borderline neoplasms and urothelial carcinoma, chapters include normal cytology, uncommon primary neoplasms, upper urinary tract lesions, and metastatic and secondary cancers.
