Urbanizing Suburbia erforscht die Beziehung zwischen drei aktuellen Prozessen in globalen Städten: Hyper-Gentrifizierung der Innenstädte, Finanzialisierung des Wohnens und strukturelle Veränderungen in Vororten. Die explodierenden Wohnungspreise in Großstädten haben zu einer enormen Abwanderung von Einwohner*innen aus den Innenstädten geführt, von denen sich viele in den Speckgürteln niedergelassen haben.
