Sportrecht bestimmt beispielsweise über die Rolle des Staats im Sport, über die Regeln sportlicher Wettkämpfe, die Organisation und Finanzierung von Sportverbänden, die Sicherheit und Gesundheit bei der Sportausübung – und immer wieder auch über Sanktionen bei Regelverstößen wie Doping, Schiedsrichterbestechung u. ä. Gerade der osteuropäische Raum ist seit jeher in der Welt des Sports stark vertreten. Sportliche Großereignisse, wie etwa die in Polen und der Ukraine ausgetragene Fußball-Europameisterschaft 2012 und die Olympischen Winterspiele 2014 in Sochi, standen weltweit im Fokus. Der vorliegende Band dokumentiert die Mehrzahl der Beiträge zu einer Kieler Tagung der Fachgruppe Recht der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Osteuropakunde e. V., die dem Thema des Sportrechts im östlichen Europa gewidmet war. This edited volume presents comparative research on how the courts in Southeast Europe apply international law. After the introductory Part I, Part II discusses specific areas of international law, notably the law of Association Agreements between the EU and third countries, the law of the World Trade Organization, and international environmental law (the Aarhus Convention). Part III consists of country reports on how national courts in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia are currently applying international law.
