MASTER SPY OF THE RED PLANET Jery Delvin had a most unusual talent. He could detect the flaws in any scheme almost on sight—even where they had eluded the best brains in the ad agency where he worked. So when the Chief of World Security told him that he had been selected as the answer to the Solar System's greatest mystery, Jery assumed that it was because of his mental agility. But when he got to Mars to find out why fifteen boys had vanished from a spaceship in mid-space, he found out that even his quick mind needed time to pierce the maze of out-of-this-world double-dealing. For Jery had become a walking bomb, and when he set himself off, it would be the end of the whole puzzle of THE S...

Among their many idiosyncrasies, Adolf Hitler and Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi minister of propaganda, remained serious cartoon aficionados throughout their lives. They adored animation and their influence on German animation after World War II continues to this day. This study explores Hitler and Goebbels' efforts to establish a German cartoon industry to rival Walt Disney's and their love-hate relationship with American producers, whose films they studied behind locked doors. Despite their ambitious dream, all that remains of their efforts are a few cartoon shorts--advertising and puppet films starring dogs, cats, birds, hedgehogs, insects, Teutonic dwarves, and other fairy-tale ensemble. While these pieces do not hold much propaganda value, they perfectly illustrate Hannah Arendt's controversial description of those who perpetrated the Holocaust: the banality of evil.

When high school teacher Chase McCarthy begins serving as a mentor to her beautiful colleague, she has no idea that the younger woman will steal her husband and have his child-the child that she cannot have. But life gets worse when Chase moves to southern Colorado and discovers that she has breast cancer. After a year of chemotherapy and an intense battle for her life, Chase meets a female white dog with yellow eyes at an animal shelter. Chase hopes to help the dog, which she names Snow, but instead finds out that she's the one in need of rescuing. Chase soon finds out that Snow is probably part wolf, but that does not deter her from loving the animal. As Chase and Snow become better acquainted and learn each other's ways, the wolf-dog also gets to know Nathaniel Black, a teacher at a community college. Snow becomes enamored with the handsome teacher, and soon, so does her owner. When the Wolf Howls is the inspiring story of a woman scorned and the dog who teaches her the true meaning of love.
