Acta van dading merupakan suatu kesepakatan antara pihak-pihak yang bersengketa yang dibuat melalui proses mediasi yang dilakukan oleh pihak yang bersengketa dengan perantara mediator hakim tunggal yang kemudian apabila mediasi itu berhasil dibuatkanlah sebuah akta berupa akta perdamaian atau biasa dikenal dengan istilah acta van dading. Buku “Akibat Hukum Acta Van Dading sebagai Alternatif Penyelesaian Sengketa” membahas mengenai perdamaian yang dituangkan dalam akta otentik (acta van dading) sebagai alternatif penyelesaian sengketa di luar pengadilan.
