L'interès de Teresa Pascual per l'obra d'Ingeborg Bachmann escriptora austríaca, filòsofa com ella, molt compromesa amb la inquietud política de després de la segona guerra mundial ha tingut una gran importància a l'hora d'escriure aquest llibre. La citació que fa Pascual d'uns versos d'un poema de Bachmann titulat "Curriculum Vitae" i que diuen:« Llarga és la nit, /llarga per a l'home /que no pot morir, llarga...» resumeix tota la seva reflexió sobre el temps, l'amor i el llenguatge, un llenguatge obstaculitzat moltes vegades pel silenci.

In response to ETA's 1997 kidnappings and murders thousands of Spaniards attended mass demonstrations to express their contempt for violence as a means of political pressure. The demand that public authorities prosecute and condemn those who directly or indirectly support ETA and its terrorist attacks was one of the most prevalent slogans in the marches.
