Review: "This book is a fantastic guide to online marketing, and the Internet in general. As a marketing practitioner, I've been finding my way own way through the online world for some time now but have always wondered if what I was doing was 'correct' and it would take me ages to find out what I needed to know through researching online articles, blogs, etc. I found this book to be fairly concise and focused. The references to other online articles that it includes are vast and can they be very absorbing. The best part about this is that it is written by someone that clearly has vast experience in the field and, unlike with some online articles, you get the feeling that what is advised is ...

Who are you? It’s the most fundamental of human questions. Are you the type of person who tilts at windmills, or the one who prefers to view them from the comfort of an air-conditioned motorcoach? Our personalities are endlessly fascinating—not just to ourselves but also to our spouses, our parents, our children, our co-workers, our neighbors. As a highly social species, humans have to navigate among an astonishing variety of personalities. But how did all these different permutations come about? And what purpose do they serve? With her trademark wit and sly humor, Hannah Holmes takes readers into the amazing world of personality and modern brain science. Using the Five Factor Model, whi...

Molly and her family have moved around for years. Every time they think they've found a home, one of the Quirks slips up and sends them packing. The Quirk family, you see, is a bit, well, quirky. Each family member has a magical power that makes them unique, and highly unusual. Mum can control minds; Grandpa twists time; Molly's twin sister Penelope has an all-too-real imagination; and Finn is the naughty little brother - who also happens to be invisible. Then there's Molly, the most unusual Quirk of all. Molly is completely, and utterly, normal. Molly's greatest desire is to fit in, and she's found the perfect spot: Normal, Michigan. With its chocolate-box houses, welcoming committees and famous town competitions, it seems like just the place for an ordinary new life. But the Quirks aren't known for fitting in - especially in a place like Normal . . .

Forensics

Bestselling author of Broken Ground “offers fascinating glimpses” into the real world of criminal forensics from its beginnings to the modern day (The Boston Globe). The dead can tell us all about themselves: where they came from, how they lived, how they died, and, of course, who killed them. Using the messages left by a corpse, a crime scene, or the faintest of human traces, forensic scientists unlock the mysteries of the past and serve justice. In Forensics, international bestselling crime author Val McDermid guides readers through this field, drawing on interviews with top-level professionals, ground-breaking research, and her own experiences on the scene. Along the way, McDermid dis...
