The focus of this study is the doctrine of creation - an issue brought into the centre of attention by the modern ecological urgency but also challenged by the postmodern rejection of analogy and meta-narration. From the stance of this modern debate, the author analyses the doctrine of creation in the theologies of Thomas F. Torrance and Eberhard Jungel. Thus, the work becomes both a penetrating examination of a crucial dogmatic issue and the first critical comparison between two main representatives of the theology influenced by Karl Barth.
