Europe of Rights: A Compendium on the European Convention of Human Rights
This book is a systematic commentary on half a century of case law on the Convention system made by a group of legal experts from various universities and legal disciplines. It provides a guide of the rights protected under ECHR as well as a better understanding, open to supranational scenarios, of fundamental rights in the respective Constitutions. Our intention is not only to make available a mere case law commentary. This work indeed offers succinct information on the most consolidated lines of case law and this is probably where it is most useful. Libertad de conciencia y Europa.
Sin lugar a dudas, el derecho de libertad de conciencia es uno de los terrenos donde los estudios sobre el Derecho constitucional común europeo son cada vez más necesarios, ya que en sólo unas décadas Europa ha modificado de forma radical sus estructuras. Este cambio, si bien comenzó a gestarse en la Europa de la Postguerra, está siendo cada vez más acusado debido a diversos factores, entre los que destacan: el fenómeno migratorio, la profunda secularización ideológica y religiosa que ha experimentado la sociedad europea, y el pluralismo ideológico y religioso inherente al pleno disfrute de las libertades públicas. El objeto de este trabajo de investigación es el análisis y estudio del alcance y contenido del derecho a la libertad de pensamiento, conciencia y religión, garantizado en el artículo 9 del CEDH, y en la jurisprudencia del TEDH.

This book offers a wide comparative overview of the legal measures enacted by countries throughout the world to react to the unprecedented public health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The volume gathers the General Reports and selected National Reports presented at the 2022 General Congress of the International Academy of Comparative Law. While the National Reports focus on single countries, the General Report provides a comparative analysis of observed trends and main legal issues. The Madrid Codex
This volume offers new calendrical models and methodologies for reading, dating, and interpreting the general significance of the Madrid Codex. The longest of the surviving Maya codices, this manuscript includes texts and images painted by scribes conversant in Maya hieroglyphic writing, a written means of communication practiced by Maya elites from the second to the fifteenth centuries A.D. Some scholars have recently argued that the Madrid Codex originated in the Petén region of Guatemala and postdates European contact. The contributors to this volume challenge that view by demonstrating convincingly that it originated in northern Yucatán and was painted in the Pre-Columbian era. In addition, several contributors reveal provocative connections among the Madrid and Borgia group of codices from Central Mexico. Contributors include: Harvey M. Bricker, Victoria R.
