A Formal Foundation for the Trace Method of Software Specification
An overview of the trace method for the abstract specification of software is followed by a syntax, semantics, and derivation system for the method. This foundation supports a comparison of the trace method with the algebraic approaches to abstract specification, while completeness and soundness theorems suggest methods for proving specifications consistent and sufficiently-complete.
