A collection of real-life stories told by a wide range of sex and gender diverse people.
This is the first book to investigate the world of stage hypnosis as practisced in pubs, clubs, theatres and on television. It uncovers the devastating effects suffered by some of those who have volunteered to take part in shows and discusses the issues with victims who have been damaged physically, psychologically, and socially by the process, or even by the stage hypnotists themselves, some of whom are often incompetent, negligent, ruthless and without any form of training.
Trans People in Love is a illuminating resource for members of the trans community and their partners and families; gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, and intersex people; sexologists; sex therapists; counselors; psychologists; psychotherapists; social workers; psychiatrists; medical doctors; educators; students; and couples and family therapists. Trans People in Love provides a forum for the experience of being in love and in relationships with significant others for members of the trans community. This honest and respectful volume tells clinicians, scholars, and trans people themselves of the beauty and complexity that trans identity brings to a romantic relationship, what skills and mindsets are needed to forge positive relationships, and demonstrates the reality that trans people in all stages of transition can create stable and loving relationships that are both physically and emotionally fulfilling.
This book extends the previous work of Dr O'Keefe's pansexual model of human behaviour, first explored in her successful publications 'Trans-X-U-All. The Naked Difference.' It dispels much of the mysticism around physical sex, artificially constructed gender and the diversity of sexuality. As well as considering gay, lesbian, transexual and transgendered identities, O'Keefe also looks at the intersex groups such as Hermaphrodites and people who identify as being withoug sex of gender.
The Naked Difference This fresh and concise work takes an exciting look at the world of transexuals. It explains the whole gender reassignment process from start to finish and includes deeply moving stories written by transsexuals themselves, their lovers, families and friends. Scientific, factual, informative, it provides, in accessible language, a comprehensive guide to the world of transsexuality.

THE SUNDAY TIMES TOP TEN BESTSELLER SHORTLISTED FOR THE PENDERYN MUSIC BOOK PRIZE 'Tender, wise and funny' Sunday Express 'Beautifully observed, deadly funny' Max Porter Before becoming an acclaimed musician and writer, Tracey Thorn was a typical teenager: bored and cynical, despairing of her aspirational parents. Her only comfort came from house parties and the female pop icons who hinted at a new kind of living. Returning to the scene of her childhood, Thorn takes us beyond the bus shelters, the pub car parks and the weekly discos, to the parents who wanted so much for their children and the children who wanted none of it. With great wit and insight, Thorn reconsiders the Green Belt post-war dream so many artists have mocked, and yet so many artists have come from.
This step-by-step introduction to self-hypnosis is an original and well-crafted work that takes the novice reader through the basic steps of the subject and details how it can be applied for health, happiness, well-being and personal development. Packed with information and easy-to-understand techniques, it's designed to be used both by people new to hypnosis and by therapists already working with clients. Included are sections on trance states, diet, exercise, breathing, positive mental programming, boosting the immune system and confidence building.
This is the ludicrously expensive edition of this book. Photos are in colour, so it costs 6 times as much as the perfectly adequate black and white interior version. Not my fault, and beyond my comprehension, but I suggest you save your money on this costly version of the autobiography of the first person to be declared by a final court judgment to be of non-binary sex, and buy the USD 9.99 version instead ;)
