Bodrum’un bir öz çocuğu olarak, hatıralarımı yaşadıklarımı yazmayı kafama koyduktan sonra, masalların başlangıcında söylenen “Bir varmış, bir yokmuş” cümlesinin kafamın ve hafızamın içerisine yüklediği ilhamla, binbir hatıralar silsilesini kaleme alarak Bodrum’un doğal bir cennet olduğu o yıllara dönmeyi, o güzel anılara dalıp içinde haşrolmayı karşı konulamaz bir hevesle arzu ettim. Çünkü artık çok uzak kaldığımız o güzel hasletlerden, örf ve adetlerden, o güzel insanlardan, o güzel doğadan ayrı kalmak vaktiyle yaşanmış o güzel hayatı, hayalimde de olsa yeniden yaşama arzusu bende karşı konulamaz bir tutku oldu.
