Modelling and Development of Intelligent Systems
This volume constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Modelling and Development of Intelligent Systems, MDIS 2020, held in Sibiu, Romania, in October 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the conference was held online. The 25 revised full papers presented in the volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 57 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on evolutionary computing; intelligent systems for decision support; machine learning; mathematical models for development of intelligent systems; modelling and optimization of dynamic systems; ontology engineering.
Standard Basque
The first modern pedagogically oriented reference to the grammar of standard Basque (Euskara Batua), in two parts: Part 1 presents detailed grammar lessons, Part 2 glosses and supplementary materials. The Grammar of Perspective
The so-called Sumerian conjugation prefixes are the most poorly understood and perplexing elements of Sumerian verbal morphology. Approaching the problem from a functional-typological perspective and basing the analysis upon semantics, Professor Woods argues that these elements, in their primary function, constitute a system of grammatical voice, in which the active voice is set against the middle voice. The latter is represented by heavy and light markers that differ with respect to focus and emphasis. As a system of grammatical voice, the conjugation prefixes provided Sumerian speakers with a linguistic means of altering the perspective from which events may be viewed, giving speakers a series of options for better approximating in language the infinitely graded spectrum of human conceptualization and experience. Letters in the Louvre
This book is the fourteenth volume in the series Altbabylonische Briefe in Umschrift und Übersetzung, which aims to make the many — often dispersed — letters from the Old Babylonian period available in transliteration and translation. Volume 14 collects 226 Old Babylonian letters from The Louvre. After the earlier publication of the letters of (TCL 7) by F.R. Kraus in AbB 4 (1968) all other Old Babylonian letters in The Louvre have now been included, with the exception of those excavated in 1912 at Kish, by H. de Genouillac.
