Representations of gender in learning materials convey an implicit message to students about attitudes towards culturally appropriate gender roles for women and men. This collection takes a linguistic approach to exploring theories about gender representation within the sphere of education and textbooks, and their effects on readers and students within an international context. In the opening section, contributors discuss theories of representation and effect, challenging the conventional Althusserian model of interpellation, and acknowledging the challenges of applying Western feminist models within an international context. Following chapters provide detailed analyses focusing on a number ...

New, global and extended markets are forcing companies to process and manage increasingly differentiated products with shorter life cycles, low volumes and reduced customer delivery times. In today’s global marketplace production systems need to be able to deliver products on time, maintain market credibility and introduce new products and services faster than competitors. As a result, a new production paradigm of a production system has been developed and a supporting management decision-making approach simultaneously incorporating design, management, and control of the production system is necessary so that this challenge can be effectively and efficiency met. This book is designed to raise awareness of the use of wild plants in farming systems around the world. It describes the contribution of wild plants as a source of food, fuel wood, shelter, medicines and dyes, and their role in income generation for the improved welfare of farm households and local people. Wild plants are also of paramount importance as sources of wild germplasm that might enhance the productivity, disease resistance, winter hardiness, drought survival of cultured species. This publication analyses the potential of wild species, as well as the natural, social, economic, legal and institutional factors that constrain their use and development potential.
This publication, which is now being bestowed on its readers, opens a new publishing series - Paphos Agora Project. W Ja, legenda czeka na Was to i jeszcze więcej. Zbiór dwudziestu pięciu opowiadań to antologia zamykająca konkurs przeprowadzony pod okiem redakcji Fantazmatów na portalu fantastyka.pl.
