Theory and Applications of Image Analysis II
This book contains 31 selected papers (out of 136 accepted) from the 9th Scandinavian Conference on Image Analysis, held in Uppsala, Sweden, 6?9 June 1995. They represent the very best of what is currently done in image analysis, world-wide, describing very recent work. The papers have been both considerably expanded and updated compared to the version in the conference proceedings, giving the readers a much better understanding of the issues at hand.The papers cover both theory and successful applications. There are chapters on Edges and Curves, d104ure, Depth and Stereo, Scene Analysis, and 3D Motion, thus covering the chain from feature extraction to computer vision. Vision Algorithms: Theory and Practice
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-workshop proceedings of the International Workshop on Vision Algorithms held in Corfu, Greece in September 1999 in conjunction with ICCV'99. The 15 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 65 submissions; each paper is complemented by a brief transcription of the discussion that followed its presentation. Also included are two invited contributions and two expert reviews as well as a panel discussion. The volume spans the whole range of algorithms for geometric vision. The authors and volume editors succeeded in providing added value beyond a mere collection of papers and made the volume a state-of-the-art survey of their field.
Pattern Recognition
Sometimes milestones in the evolution of the DAGM Symposium become immediately visible. The Technical Committee decided to publish the symposium proceedings completely in English. As a consequence we successfully negotiated with Springer Verlag to publish in the international well accepted series “Lecture Notes in Computer Science”. The quality of the contributions convinced the editors and the lectors. Thanks to them and to the authors. We received 105 acceptable, good, and even excellent manuscripts. Automatic Vehicle Guidance

Sequential And Parallel Processing In Depth Search Machines
Depth search machines (DSMs) and their applications for processing combinatorial tasks are investigated and developed in this book. The combinatorial tasks are understood widely and contain sorting and searching, processing NP-complete and isomorphic complete problems, computational geometry, pattern recognition, image analysis and expert reasoning. The main philosophy is to see EXISTENCE and EVERY as the basic tasks, while IDENTIFICATION, SEARCHING and ALL algorithms are given both for single and parallel DSMs. In this book, many IDENTIFICATION, SEARCHING and ALL algorithms are performed in single and parallel DSMs. In order to support side applications of the given approach, there are many new models for representing different combinatorial problems. The given approach enables low computational complexity for many practical algorithms to be reached, which is theoretically quite unexpected if the classic approach is followed.
