Funding, efficiency, and equity in education In OECD countries the average expenditure on primary and secondary education institutions is about 3.5% of GDP. The investment in education has large implications for economic development and the proper functioning of democratic institutions, as well as overall well-being. However, clear consensus and guidance on which system leads to the best educational outcomes is lacking. This volume describes the resource allocation for compulsory and special needs education for a selection of well-performing countries and regions on PISA tests. By studying the funding systems in well-performing countries and regions the authors identify the elements in the respective funding systems that are associated with best outcomes and have the ideal characteristics to pursue particular goals of education systems such as equity and efficiency. As an annual event, 1st International Conference on Christian and Inter Religious Studies (ICCIRS) 2019 continued the agenda to bring together researcher, academics, experts and professionals in examining selected theme by applying multidisciplinary approaches. In 2019, IAKN Manado successfully held this event for the first time in 11-14 December at Institut Agama Kristen Negeri (IAKN) Manado, Indonesia. There were 134 papers presented during 2 days at the conference from any kind of stakeholders related with Christian education and learning development, Theology, Music and psychotherapy, Psychology and Counselling and Inter-Religious Studies. Each contributed paper was refereed before being accepted for publication. The double-blind peer reviewed was used in the paper selection. From all papers submitted, there were 80 papers were accepted successfully for publication based on their area of interest, relevance, research by applying multidisciplinary.

To stimulate sustainable economic development and a greener economy, the European Commission co-funds public projects through the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF), which are among the largest such funds in the world worth approximately 100 billion euros annually. Since 2014, ESIF beneficiaries are incentivized to increase their use of green public procurement (GPP). In this paper, we study to what extent ESIF co-funding affects the uptake of GPP, making use of a rare dataset containing all public tender notices in the Czech Republic (2006-2019).
