Semiconductor photocatalysts have attracted a great amount of multidiscipline research due to their high potential for solar-to-chemical-energy conversion applications, ranging from water and air purification to hydrogen and chemical fuel production. This unique diversity of photoinduced applications has spurred major research efforts on the rational design and development of photocatalytic materials with tailored structural, morphological, and optoelectronic properties in order to promote solar-light harvesting, easy photogenerated electron-hole recombination and the concomitant low quantum efficiency. This book presents a collection of original research articles on advanced photocatalytic materials, synthesized by novel fabrication approaches and/or innovative modifications that improve their performance in target photocatalytic applications such as water (cyanobacterial toxins, antibiotics, phenols, and dyes) and air (NOx and volatile organic compounds) pollutant degradation, hydrogen evolution, and hydrogen peroxide production by photoelectrochemical cells.

This volume addresses progress in the application of solidificationprinciples to the production of aluminum alloys. Topics includemicrostructure evolution, phase formation and solidification pathanalysis, grain refinement, micro/macro-segregation, mechanicalbehavior/properties in the mushy state, solidificationcracking/tearing, gas/shrinkage porosity formation, effect ofimpurities/trace elements, and the impact of cast structure on thesubsequent fabrication and properties of finished products. Paperson the experimental or theoretical simulation of solidificationaspects of casting processes including direct chill casting, continuous casting, shaped casting, semi-solid processing, andother advanced casting technologies are also included, as well asexamples showing the use of solidification principles to solveindustrial problems. Advances in Structural Mechanics Modeled with FEM

It is well known that many structural and physical problems cannot be solved by analytical approaches. These problems require the development of numerical methods to get approximate but accurate solutions. The minite element method (FEM) represents one of the most typical methodologies that can be used to achieve this aim, due to its simple implementation, easy adaptability, and very good accuracy. For these reasons, the FEM is a widespread technique which is employed in many engineering fields, such as civil, mechanical, and aerospace engineering. The large-scale deployment of powerful computers and the consequent recent improvement of the computational resources have provided the tools to ...

Death on Carrion Lane (Secret Sleuth cozy mystery series, Book 6)

Reunion for murder in Haines Tavern Sheila agrees to soothe Clara’s nervousness by accompanying her friend to the 20-year class reunion for North Bend County High. Nostalgia, good memories, old friendships – this should be fun, right? Ah, but grudges, old rivalries, and long-buried secrets also show up. And before the festivities wrap up, there’s one old classmate dead, another being questioned, and enough suspicion to cover several more. Sheila and Clara have their hands full making sure the wrong person isn’t accused and the right one doesn’t get away. Especially with Sheila also wondering about her relationship with ex-policeman Teague O'Donnell, her fledgling attempts to write ...

Premise of Innocence (Innocence Trilogy mystery series, Book 3)

The last woman Tanner is ready for is the one he must save. Who is shooting at Allison Northcutt? Detective Tanner Landis must find out before the next bullet reaches its target. And there’s nothing like a complicated history between the two of them to make that more challenging. Ally has sustained more than her share of trauma. She and her two cousins lost their beloved aunt to murder when they were teens and have been bonded ever since. And, for the past four and a half years, she has carried the burden of her police officer husband being shot in the head outside their Maryland home. He has not recovered and now is near death. Is that the key to who is after Ally? But why now? And is the...

Making Christmas (Wyoming Wildflowers feel-good romance series, Book 10) A snowbound Christmas, second chance at love story

Ho Ho Uh-Oh! Can They Make the Best of an Accidental Noel? This wasn’t the Christmas either Kiernan or Bexley expected. Snowbound in a shoddy convenience store with the least hospitable storekeeper in the state of Wyoming, two other stranded travelers, four kids forgotten by Santa – oh, yes, and each other. Because there was that thing that happened last summer. A mistake. They both thought that… though for different reasons. And agreeing it was a mistake didn’t make it any more comfortable to run into each other at the ranch of their mutual friends, the Curricks of the Slash-C Ranch. Especially when those same friends suggest, nudge, and push them into traveling East together to joi...
