The two-volume set LNCS 10273 and 10274 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the thematic track on Human Interface and the Management of Information, held as part of the 19th HCI International 2017, in Vancouver, BC, Canada, in July 2017. HCII 2017 received a total of 4340 submissions, of which 1228 papers were accepted for publication after a careful reviewing process. The 102 papers presented in these volumes were organized in topical sections as follows: Part I: Visualization Methods and Tools; Information and Interaction Design; Knowledge and Service Management; Multimodal and Embodied Interaction. Part II: Information and Learning; Information in Virtual and Augmented Reality; Recommender and Decision Support Systems; Intelligent Systems; Supporting Collaboration and User Communities; Case Studies.
According to the latest recommendations of the World Health Organization, regular physical activity is essential to combat sedentary lifestyles and other health problems. Physical activity, proper nutrition and proper rest are habits that must be adhered to by the entire population. There are many effects of physical exercise on a cognitive and mental health level. People with mood disorders tend to consume more toxic substances that in turn aggravate those problems. If it can be integrated into a routine, frequent exercise can be a way of organizing life, in addition to obtaining physiological benefits such as less chronic inflammation or a segregation of substances that promote sleep Also, for those with social anxiety, physical exercise causes the release of endorphins, which leads to an improvement in their mental health. Physical exercise can boost your self-esteem and give you a sense of accomplishment. Studies have shown that an increase in self-esteem is linked to better social interaction and healthier relationships.
In examining the key merchant group in late imperial China this book provides a framework for understanding China's path to modernity.
The Regional Economics of Technological Transformations provides a comprehensive overview of 4.0 technological transformations in Europe and their socio-economic impact, with a particular emphasis on the regional dimension of the phenomena. The authors employ extensive original data and robust quantitative methods to analyse technological change in all regions of the 27 EU countries plus the UK and shed light on this trend for Europe and beyond. Structured in four parts, the book first looks at conceptual definitions, empirical measurements and expected impacts on both the economic performance (GDP and productivity growth) and the labour market, and then moves on to analyse where 4.0 technol...
Clinical metagenomics is an emerging method in the diagnosis of infectious diseases that uses next generation sequencing (NGS) technology to identify the etiologic agents to allow for more effective and targeted treatment of infectious diseases. Conventional diagnostic methods are mainly based on basic morphologic, phenotypic and genotypic analyses which can be insensitive and/or time consuming. Metagenomic NGS (mNGS) can be performed with only a small amount of nucleic acid from the specimen and not only can the pathogen be identified and characterized, but also its antimicrobial susceptibility can be inferred. Although tremendous advancements were made in the speed, throughput, and cost of NGS in recent years, the application of clinical metagenomics in routine diagnosis of infectious diseases is not yet practical because of its much higher cost compared to conventional microbiological tests, complex laboratory workflows and computational challenges.
This book aims to introduce the most recent microsurgical techniques and applications in the pattern of illustrative case presentations, including digit replantation, toe-to-hand transplantation, peripheral nerve injuries especially total brachial plexus avulsion injury, surgical flaps. Microsurgery appeared to be a great procedure suitable for more applications. Anatomic research of the blood supply of skin, fascia, nerve, muscle, and bone identified flaps could be carried by pedicle vessels. Transfer of these flaps and revascularization by micro-vascular anastomoses of the arteries and veins set the stages for free flaps. In free flap surgery, single-stage and complex reconstructions could...
Human schistosomiasis is a disease with a rich and well-documented past, and every expectation of an unfortunately long future. These infections were known to the ancient Egyptians and their transmission shows little evidence of slowing down, globally. The good news is that field applicable, and increasingly affordable, chemotherapy has been available for almost 25 years. Using chemotherapy and other means of control, some countries have decreased transmission and made excellent headway against morbidity. The bad news is that the public health problems caused by schistosomiasis are still with us, with the estimated number of cases of schistosomiasis, while shifting geographically, remaining ...
The seven-volume set of LNCS 11301-11307, constitutes the proceedings of the 25th International Conference on Neural Information Processing, ICONIP 2018, held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, in December 2018. The 401 full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 575 submissions. The papers address the emerging topics of theoretical research, empirical studies, and applications of neural information processing techniques across different domains. The 7th and final volume, LNCS 11307, is organized in topical sections on robotics and control; biomedical applications; and hardware.

This book focuses on the study of low permeability and tight sandstone reservoirs within fluvial delta facies found in the Ordos Basin, Songliao Basin, and Sichuan Basin. It systematically examines the superimposed patterns, geometric forms, and scale characteristics of sedimentary sand bodies within the fluvial delta system. Additionally, it analyzes the impact of seepage barriers such as interlayers and closed faults on fluid flow. The book establishes a sedimentary model for sand bodies in typical sedimentary environments, considering the differences in separation and connectivity caused by the shape, scale, direction, and spatial overlap of different reservoir units and seepage barriers. It investigates the mechanisms of fluid flow controlled by interlayer, plane, and intralayer heterogeneity to understand the fluid flow within the reservoir architecture unit affected by different flow types.
