In this touching story about the highest-level executive to turn whistleblower of all time, Mark Whitacre tells all. Enormously revealing and moving, this biography shares with its readers how, via faith in God and the patient love of his wife Ginger, Mark is today an inspiring spiritual force for good in the world. Written with finesse and passion, Mark Whitacre Against All Odds reveals the family’s perspective, especially how Ginger kept Mark alive. Ed Whitacre is credited with taking over the corporate reins at General Motors (GM) when the automotive manufacturer was on the brink of bankruptcy during 2009 and turned the company around in magnificent fashion. In this business memoir, the native Texan explores his unique management style, business acumen and patriotism. It was President Obama who reached out to Ed Whitacre to come out of retirement and take over GM in 2009. A down-to-earth, no-nonsense Texas native with a distinctive Texas twang in his voice, Whitacre was reluctant to come out of retirement to work at GM. But Whitacre is that rare CEO with great charisma and extraordinary management instincts. And when he got to Detroit, he started to whittle down the corporate bureaucracy right away - and got GM back on track in record time. Before being pulled out of retirement to run GM by Obama, Ed Whitacre had spent his entire corporate career in the telecom business, where he ultimately ended up running AT&T.

The Seal Lullaby by Eric Whitacre is a delightful, deceptively simple setting in the form of a lullaby for mixed choir and accompaniment of Rudyard Kipling's poem 'The White Seal'. This full SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) choral arrangement with Piano accompaniment is accurately transcribed and appears in great quality print, with easy part writing throughout, so that singing this emotive song is as easy as possible. When Eric Whitacre was commissioned to write music for an animated feature, he was so struck by the words of Kipling's lovely poem that he immediately sat down to write a calm and subtle yet musically interesting piece. Unfortunately, the song was not used, but was later commissioned by the Towne Singers, and we are pleased to offer you this Seal Lullaby sheet music.
