This book gathers the proceedings of the 16th IFToMM World Congress, which was held in Tokyo, Japan, on November 5–10, 2023. Having been organized every four years since 1965, the Congress represents the world’s largest scientific event on mechanism and machine science (MMS). The contributions cover an extremely diverse range of topics, including biomechanical engineering, computational kinematics, design methodologies, dynamics of machinery, multibody dynamics, gearing and transmissions, history of MMS, linkage and mechanical controls, robotics and mechatronics, micro-mechanisms, reliability of machines and mechanisms, rotor dynamics, standardization of terminology, sustainable energy systems, transportation machinery, tribology and vibration. Selected by means of a rigorous international peer-review process, they highlight numerous exciting advances and ideas that will spur novel research directions and foster new multidisciplinary collaborations.
The two-volume set CCIS 1918 and 1919 constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Cognitive Systems and Information Processing, ICCSIP 2023, held in Luoyang, China, during August 10–12, 2023. The 52 full papers presented in these proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected from 136 submissions. The papers are organized in the following topical sections: Volume I : Award; Algorithm & Control; and Application. Volume II: Robotics & Bioinformatics; and Vision.

The volume includes a set of selected papers extended and revised from the 2011 International Conference on Computer, Communication, Control and Automation (3CA 2011). 2011 International Conference on Computer, Communication, Control and Automation (3CA 2011) has been held in Zhuhai, China, November 19-20, 2011. This volume topics covered include wireless communications, advances in wireless video, wireless sensors networking, security in wireless networks, network measurement and management, hybrid and discrete-event systems, internet analytics and automation, robotic system and applications, reconfigurable automation systems, machine vision in automation. We hope that researchers, graduate students and other interested readers benefit scientifically from the proceedings and also find it stimulating in the process.
2012 International Conference on Software Engineering, Knowledge Engineering and Information Engineering (SEKEIE 2012) will be held in Macau, April 1-2, 2012 . This conference will bring researchers and experts from the three areas of Software Engineering, Knowledge Engineering and Information Engineering together to share their latest research results and ideas. This volume book covered significant recent developments in the Software Engineering, Knowledge Engineering and Information Engineering field, both theoretical and applied. We are glad this conference attracts your attentions, and thank your support to our conference. We will absorb remarkable suggestion, and make our conference more successful and perfect.
This book gathers together papers presented at the 26th IAVSD Symposium on Dynamics of Vehicles on Roads and Tracks, held on August 12 – 16, 2019, at the Lindholmen Conference Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden. It covers cutting-edge issues related to vehicle systems, including vehicle design, condition monitoring, wheel and rail contact, automated driving systems, suspension and ride analysis, and many more topics. Written by researchers and practitioners, the book offers a timely reference guide to the field of vehicle systems dynamics, and a source of inspiration for future research and collaborations.
Machine learning has shown tremendous benefits in solving complex network problems and providing situation and parameter prediction. However, heavy resources are required to process and analyze the data, which can be done either offline or using edge computing but also requires heavy transmission resources to provide a timely response. The need here is to provide lightweight machine learning protocols that can process and analyze the data at run time and provide a timely and efficient response. These algorithms have grown in terms of computation and memory requirements due to the availability of large data sets. These models/algorithms also require high levels of resources such as computing,...
Selected, peer reviewed papers from the 2012 International Conference on Mechatronics and Control Engineering (ICMCE 2012), November 29-30, 2012, Guangzhou, China
This book aims to evaluate and improve the state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH) of automotive lithium-ion batteries. The authors first introduce the basic working principle and dynamic test characteristics of lithium-ion batteries. They present the dynamic transfer model, compare it with the traditional second-order reserve capacity (RC) model, and demonstrate the advantages of the proposed new model. In addition, they propose the chaotic firefly optimization algorithm and demonstrate its effectiveness in improving the accuracy of SOC and SOH estimation through theoretical and experimental analysis. The book will benefit researchers and engineers in the new energy industry and provide students of science and engineering with some innovative aspects of battery modeling.
