The book presents Russian experience in researching and developing theoretical and experimental problems of heavy concrete elements and constructions with functionally gradient structure, manufactured by using mechanical and electromagnetic vibrations, and broadly utilized in different areas of industry. Original theoretical, experimental and numerical methods are developed for the analysis and design of the aggregate and local characteristics of vibrated, centrifuged and vibro-centrifuged concrete rings and columns. The promising experimental techniques and results presented in this volume have been supported by Russian patents and used for improvement of reinforced concrete products.
This book presents 50 selected peer-reviewed contributions from the 10th Anniversary International Conference on “Physics and Mechanics of New Materials and Their Applications”, PHENMA 2021-2022 (23-27 May, 2022, Divnomorsk, Russia), focusing on processing techniques, physics, mechanics, and applications of advanced materials. The book describes a broad spectrum of promising nanostructures, crystal structures, materials, and composites with unique properties. It presents nanotechnological design approaches, environmental-friendly processing techniques, and physicochemical as well as mechanical studies of advanced materials. The selected contributions describe recent progress in computati...
Directory of foreign diplomatic officers in Washington.
This book applies various concepts based on practical experimental considerations to industrial fields: aerospace structure, shipbuilding and marine engineering, automotive, and elevator composites. Written by prominent authors who contribute to the success of advanced composites technology and leading influential laboratories and companies, the book includes unique concept research, recent trends, and further insights. Particular effort is made to deal with notable constituent materials of advanced composites, even nanostructures. This book deals with applied research from the basics of a rare nanomaterial called halloysite nanotube, which is environmentally friendly and leads nanomaterials in advanced industrial composite materials and functional, structural materials with high practical value. This book includes practical nano-bridging techniques on nanostructures, manufacturing, analysis, and advanced composites' applications using the research know-how accumulated over the years by prominent experts in these areas.
This book examines the transformation and the dynamic reconfiguration of borders within Korea through inter/trans-disciplinary approaches. The book offers a comprehensive synthesis for the changing geo-political, cultural, and economic dynamics among Korea’s diasporas by applying the theme of “diasporas within homeland” as a theoretical lens. While diaspora remains a central theoretical perspective (often highlighting “out of home” experiences), the volume turns its gaze inward, “within homeland,” to trace internal displacement, mobility, and diversity in Korea. In addition, this volume brings diverse scholarly traditions that bridge the diaspora with a wide range of theoretical lenses and methodological approaches, such as intercultural sensitivity and adaptation, acculturation, ideology critique, alienation, national memory, and postcolonialism. The book further explores the possibilities of coalition-building between/among diverse communities. As a study of the notion of Korean identity and citizenship, this book will be of huge interest to students and scholars of Korean society and culture, Asian diasporas, cultural anthropology, and ethnicity.
