This book addresses recent research trends concerning the role of the Metaverse in advancing the education and finance sectors from various perspectives. These trends are explored through multiple case studies employing diverse analytical approaches. The chapters aim to aid scholars and postgraduate students in pursuing future research in this domain and identifying potential developments in Metaverse applications.
This book includes high-quality research papers presented at the First International Conference on Human-Centric Smart Computing (ICHCSC 2022), organized by the University of Engineering and Management, Jaipur, India, on 27–29 April 2022. The topics covered in the book are human-centric computing, hyper connectivity, and data science. The book presents innovative work by leading academics, researchers, and experts from industry.
The most common form of severe dementia, Alzheimer’s disease (AD), is a cumulative neurological disorder because of the degradation and death of nerve cells in the brain tissue, intelligence steadily declines and most of its activities are compromised in AD. Before diving into the level of AD diagnosis, it is essential to highlight the fundamental differences between conventional machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL). This work covers a number of photo-preprocessing approaches that aid in learning because image processing is essential for the diagnosis of AD. The most crucial kind of neural network for computer vision used in medical image processing is called a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The proposed study will consider facial characteristics, including expressions and eye movements using the diffusion model, as part of CNN’s meticulous approach to Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Convolutional neural networks were used in an effort to sense Alzheimer’s disease in its early stages using a big collection of pictures of facial expressions.
Interoperability in IoT for Smart Systems discusses the different facets of interoperability issues among the IoT devices and their solutions, the scalability issues in an IoT network, and provides solutions for plug-n-play of new devices with the existing IoT system. It also addresses the possible usage of interoperable and plug-n-play IoT networks in different systems to make them smarter. Aimed at researchers and graduate students in computer science, computer engineering, computer networks, electronics engineering, this book Exclusively covers interoperability of IoT systems in parallel with their use towards the development of smart systems Discusses the requirements of interoperability in smart IoT systems and their solutions Reviews IoT applications in different smart and intelligent systems Explores dealing with interoperability of heterogeneous participating devices Provides different case studies and open problems related to interoperability in IoT systems

A probing and poetic examination of language, food, faith, and family attachment in Italian life through the eyes of an American who moved to Parma with her husband and family. In the 1980s, the American writer Wallis Wilde-Menozzi moved permanently with her Italian husband and her daughter to Parma, a sophisticated city in northern Italy, where he became a professor of biology. Her search for rootedness in the city that was to be her home introduced her to complexities in her identity as she migrated into another language and looked for links beyond the joys of Verdi, Correggio, and Parmesan cheese, which visitors have rightly extolled for centuries. The local resistance to change perceived...
